TAUS Data Association members significantly reduce entry-level fees for organizations and individuals

TAUS Data Association is a non-profit industry-sanctioned member-driven initiative to extend all our investments by getting the most out of the world’s language data. Membership has grown from 40 to 67 organizations in the first year of operation. Members have proven the benefit of sharing language data for improving term use, better leveraging and machine translation quality.

The repository has grown to 2.6 billion words in 315 language pairs, and includes language resources from public bodies and commerce. The lessons learnt from members’ and users’ experiences as well as through public consultation are shaping and refining the technology roadmap. The coming months will see implementation of translation matching (sponsored by Welocalize), more sophisticated translation memory cleaning, and even more granular data selection tools. These developments, prioritized by members, are part of the Association’s strategy to provide intelligent access to this open resource.
