Translators and TDA

Sharing translation memories in a central global repository helps to improve consistency of term use, translators productivity and machine translation.

Machine translation engines will not be able to translate creative writing, but can be much better at translating simpler types of content.

Translation processes have been automating for more than 20 years, enabling the industry to increase its capacity dramatically, but this is simply not enough. The amount of content is growing too fast for the industry to keep up.

Translators joining TDA are giving support to a global initiative to:

  • increase productivity - download 10 times what you upload and increase your leverage rates
  • improve translation quality - see TAUS Search
  • increase capacity and push straight forward monotone translation to machines, leaving more challenging and creative work for you
  • help ensure that the industry is not dominated by commercial giants

By joining TDA you are giving your support to a coherent and committed effort to help the world communicate better.

By joining TDA you are being a realist, you are being an optimist, you are saying that you believe the future of the translation industry is brightest when we all work together to unlock the power of machine translation and combine this with the craftsmanship of professional translators.
